Bible Study/Devotions/Books

A Cartoonist's Guide to the Bible - Wouldn't the Bible be better with pictures?! Well now it is. This awesome site adds engaging illustration to the scriptures. We highly recommend using this for your Bible exploration at home!

Growing With (book) - "One day they seem content to hang out with you. The next, they’re too busy.
And even if they weren’t busy, you aren’t sure they would want to.
As parents, we often feel the gap between us and our kids widening when they become teenagers and young adults. Maybe it’s just that they’re growing up. But we fear that gap is a symptom that we’re growing apart.
Filled with brand-new research and real-life stories from remarkable families, Growing With shows you how to close the family gap, giving parents courage to take the next faithful step on a mutual journey of intentional growth that trusts God to transform you all.
Discover strategies to help you invite doubt, rather than avoid it. Growing With will show you how to help your kids keep their roots, even as they spread their wings."

FAITH 5 - "(Faith Acts In The Home) is a simple, easy-to-implement faith practice, perfect for incorporating into your bedtime (anytime) routine for five to fifteen minutes a day. When done over time, the FAITH5 carries the power to enrich communication , deepen understanding, aid sleep, and promote mental, physical, and spiritual health."
If I (Brent) could actually require everyone to do one thing, besides worship together, it would be this! Grab a FAITH5 card from us at church to stick somewhere at home that you'll see it often and remember to do it.

Vibrant Faith at Home - Vibrant Faith hosts a whole menu of Bible studies, family activities, and other ideas, for use at home. They've organized their content into a very user friendly menu categorized by family age and stage. They have specific content for parents, grandparents, couples, and more.

Faith Lens - Straight from the ELCA! This is great for youth up to young adults. It has everything; current event content, scripture, devotion/reflection, prayer, & action-step ideas.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes - There's probably an FCA "Huddle" in your kids' school! In the same step as AiA, FCA has a huge network & presence.

10/27/21 7th/8th gr. Axis Guide Sheet: Creation disrupted

7 th /8 th gr. Axis Guide Sheet: Creation disrupted                                                                10/27/21 Hi Guides & families! This section will cover the events found in Genesis 3-9. It also addresses how free will & sin come into play according to our faith tradition. This will bring up lots of questions! Questions about human behavior & consequences, God’s behavior, and the nature of right & wrong. It is ok to not have answers to all of these questions, sit with them, wrestle with them.   Most importantly, wonder, in light of what we can learn from these stories how are we called to live and act today?     Small Gr...

Apps

YouVersion  - It's on my phone. There's a daily verse, loads of reading plans, & of course the entire Bible in a variety of translations. Bonus, you can also create Bible verse images! d365  - A devotion every day, 365 days a year. Broken into 5 easy parts. Echo  - Forget to pray? There's an app for that too. Echo is clean & simple. From their website, "Echo's number one goal is to help people pray. Whether it be to simply keep track of prayer requests, give space to engage with God, or simply help remind people to pray... Echo is a tool to help Christ-followers engage with God." Insight Timer  - Meditation, or mindfulness, is a practice popular around the world. The benefits are far beyond spiritual. Clear your mind, relieve stress, you name it. Personally, I just like to sit in God's presence & be still.

Let's Try Again!

As we move into the new normal of ever changing circumstances, we will try to better utilize our blog as a resource that doesn't require social media as well as being able to archive relevant resources.  For the time being, make sure you are always up to speed with the latest happenings by:  - Worshiping with us. Sundays at 9:30am in-person or online at live.princeofpeacechurch.org - Receiving & reading weekly age group emails (email brenth@princeofpeacechurch.org if you aren't!) - High school youth should receive our weekly text (again, contact Brent if needed). -  Checking the website (being updated at the moment) www.princeofpeacechurch.org &/or princeofpeacechurch.org/grow-deep/youth/ (can click to specific age groups there).  Even in the midst of changing covid protocols we were fortunate to have some amazing summer experiences & are excited for what's to come this fall.
