Axis Guide Sheet: Kings – I don’t know why the Israelites needed kings.   -           Topic intro (can also read the introduction page in your Bibles)  o    Kings – “After the generations of the Judges, the Israelites continually asked God to give them a king like other nations had. God didn’t want the people to have a king (they already have God!) but then relented & the people suffered the consequences of their request for a human king. These kings were as flawed as any other people in the Bible. They got greedy, made mistakes, & hurt the people they were meant to help. They took the Israelites through more generations of triumph & turmoil.” – Colaborate. o    Think about this: What are the pros & cons of having a president or some such leader?   Discussion starters:     -           Tell about a time you were really let down, when something you were excited about/really hoped for, ended up falling short of your expectations…   -
